Getting Ready

The week before your session: Get your haircut several days before your session so it will look its best. Don't try a new hair style, because if you dislike it, even though the portraits are great, you won't like them.

Choose a VARIETY of outfits. Try to incorporate both your casual and formal looks. Make sure they are clean, pressed and put them on hangers so that they will not wrinkle. Maybe even let Mom and Dad choose one for you. That way everybody is happy. If you're not sure what to wear, bring several additional clothing changes and let us help you decide.

You are the focal point of the portraits. Long sleeves, solid colors and/or subtle prints tend to be most flattering.

Medium to dark clothes look the best on dark backgrounds. Where as medium to light colors look the best on lighter backgrounds.

Try to bring in an all black outfit. The simplicity can be quite striking and may allow for more elaborate backgrounds.

Earth tones are best for outdoor portraits.

Busy patterns and loud colors can be very distracting. Try to stay away from anything that may draw attention away from the face.

Choose a style that will stand the test of time.

Props help bring out your personality as well as show what activities you're involved in, such as: musical instruments, varsity jacket, uniforms, hats, sports equipment, stuffed animals, sunglasses, your car and pets (outdoors only).

Session Fees are prepaid so have your credit card ready. If you don't have a credit card, you must send us a check within three days or you will forfeit your appointment. If you do not show up for your appointment, you will not get your Session Fee back.

Please note our policy with regards to keeping your appointment... "No Show" means you did not show up and did not contact us 24 hours prior to your appointment. Not only is this inconsiderate of our efforts to accommodate you, it is extremely inconsiderate of your fellow seniors - making an appointment time unavailable to them.

We know that you are excited about your portraits. Your previews will be ready in three to four days. Don't delay because of blemishes. Retouching is available.
